What is the Fair Credit Reporting Act and what are my rights?
The Fair Credit Reporting Act is a federal law that promotes the legitimacy, fairness, and privacy of the files created by consumer reporting agencies like Information Development Group. For example:
- You must sign a consent for an employer or a potential employer to receive your consumer report.
- You have the right to know what is in your consumer report and you may request your consumer report information.
- You must be notified if there was adverse information in your consumer report.

Dispute Information
If you think an item may be incorrect or do not recognize information on your background check report, you may request a reinvestigation of the disputed information. Please complete and submit a form to dispute information on your background check. Upon receipt of your properly submitted dispute, Information Development Group has 30 calendar days to conduct the re-investigation.
